  • 1. Water always tends to become hard (calcified).

    Imagine you're hungry and you go grocery shopping. As you walk through the store, you throw everything that looks delicious into your basket. Water behaves in much the same way as it makes its way to the surface. The water molecules dissolve minerals like magnesium, sodium, and calcium from the rock and form a protective "cage" around them.
