How does the MOL-LIK process work?

The MOL process is a purely physical water treatment – completely without salt, chlorine, chemicals, or electricity. At its heart is a catalyst made from a special metal surface of chromium, nickel, and iron. As your tap water flows over it, a natural physical process is triggered: Hydrate shells quickly form around the dissolved lime components, like a protective net. This keeps the lime dissolved in the water, preventing it from depositing on pipes, boilers, heat exchangers, and fixtures.

At the same time, the catalyst acts on biofilm and deposits: Existing deposits are gradually broken down, and their new formation is prevented. Since biofilm is the actual habitat of Legionella, the hygiene risk also decreases – continuously and without aggressive chemicals. The valuable minerals calcium and magnesium remain completely in the water.

The same technology has been used for years in the most demanding environments – from power plants and industry to clinics – and has been successfully tested, among others, in the European INSPIREWATER project. What works in heavy industry now also protects your property.

How large does the system need to be for our property?

The Waterpower series covers flow rates from 1.5 to 25 m³/h. The appropriate size depends on peak consumption and connection size. As a general rule, you should follow the flow rate indicated on the water meter.

Does Vodaclean replace a legally required water softening or disinfection?

MOL Technology is a physical supplement or alternative that reduces limescale and biofilm. Whether and how it replaces existing systems will be clarified on a project-by-project basis as part of the analysis and with regard to the relevant standards.

Are there ongoing costs?

No – no salt, no chemicals, no electricity, no cartridges. After 3–5 years, the catalyst surface is briefly cleaned. Expected lifespan: at least 20 years.
